The Ukrainian government has adopted a resolution that provides for the launch of the certification process for mine action operators on the "Diya" portal.
It is noted that such a solution simplifies access to services for operators engaged in humanitarian demining and contributes to faster clearance of mined areas.
What services will become available?
Three key services for operators will appear on the "Diya" portal:
Initial certification - for new operators.
Re-certification - for those who update permits.
Expansion of the scope of certification - to increase the range of activities.
Services will be automated as much as possible.
It is known that the data of applicants will be pulled from state registers, so personal appeals to institutions will not be required. It is expected that the new system will become more transparent, convenient and anti-corruption.
"Ukraine is currently the most mined country in the world: 24% of the territory is potentially dangerous due to contamination by mines and unexploded ordnance. We are simplifying and digitizing certification processes so that even more operators can help clear the land of enemy mines," the Ministry noted.
The service is planned to become available in 2025.
It is reported that beta testing will be conducted before the system becomes operational.
It is known that all news and details regarding testing and launch can be found on the official resources of the "Diya" portal and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
They also added that this initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Digital Affairs within the framework of the EGAP program, which is implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation with financial support from the Swiss government.
